Prep Youth Rugby Carnival 2024
The Youth Rugby Carnival 2024, organised by S. Thomas' Preparatory School, for the 2nd year, was held on Saturday, 22nd June, at the CR & FC Grounds.
Over 40 junior rugby teams from 17 schools participated.
St Peter's met S Thomas' Preparatory School in the Cup Final, with the peterites emerging worthy winners, with 10 points to 05. Both teams dished out some amazing rugby.
The Chief Guest was distinguished Past Prepite Christo Jordashe, Former rugby captain of S. Thomas' Prep School, S. Thomas' College Mt. Lavinia and of CR & FC. The 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the S. Thomas' Preparatory School Old Boys' Union (OBU)
The 43rd AGM of the STPS OBU was held on Saturday 15th June 2024, at the school hall, with the traditional Headmasters lunch being hosted at the 'Fortrose', thereafter.
The AGM was presided over by Rev. Nihal Fernando, the Headmaster and ex-officio President of the OBU, who in his speech,
invited the alumni in attendance to participate in and be an active part of the development of their alma mater. He presented a detailed update on school activities and achievements, in all spheres, and thanked the OBU for the work done towards the development of Prep School, and expressed his confidence in the OBU in partnering the school in its future endeavours.
Mr. S. Sri Ganendran, the incumbant 9th Secretary, was re-elected uncontested, and serves his third consecutive term as Hony.
Secretary. In his address to the membership, he thanked the Headmaster for his continued engagement with the OBU in school matters, and affirmed the OBU's intention in continuing to work diligently towards the development of Prep School. He also thanked the members of the Executive Committee for their commitment and passion, and the effort exerted by the ExCo towards making the collective vision a reality. He went on to thank the membership for standing by the school, and expressed his appreciation to those that took the time to be present there that morning.
The attendees were hosted to lunch by the Headmaster after the formal proceedings of the AGM. A group photograph was taken with everyone present.
